The People Behind the Name

About Loki Land Co

We're not a faceless investment fund. We're a small, family-run operation built on straight talk, fair offers, and a genuine love of the outdoors.

Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Steve.

I started Loki Land Co in 2021 because I genuinely love land — what it looks like, what it feels like to stand on it, and what it means to the families who own it. I'm a husband, a dad, and someone who has spent a lot of time outdoors across the Southeast and beyond. That background shapes every offer I make.

I've lived near Southern Pines, NC — longleaf pine country — and I've spent years hiking, fishing, and exploring places like Asheville, Pisgah National Forest, Chattanooga, the Adirondacks, and central Florida with my family. I know what it means to want open space. I know what it means to want to find a piece of land where your kids can run, where a dog can stretch out and disappear into the tree line.

When you reach out to Loki Land Co, you're talking directly to me. I'll give you a straight answer, a fair offer, and I won't waste your time. That's a promise.

The Name Behind the Name

Meet Loki.

Loki is a black-and-white Husky mix with the energy of a freight train and the personality of someone who has never once had a bad day. He's the reason this company has the name it does.

One of the best parts of owning land — or helping someone sell it — is imagining what it could be used for. For our family, that often means finding a big open field or a long trail where Loki can run flat-out until he finally decides he's done. He's been to the Adirondacks, through the Pisgah, and across more fields in the Southeast than we can count.

He doesn't close deals or answer emails. But he does remind us every single day why open land matters — and why it's worth doing this work the right way.

The Places That Shaped This Business

Where Steve Spends His Time

Steve's love of land isn't abstract. It comes from years of hiking, fishing, and exploring real places with his family — and a dog who demands nothing less than wide open space.

Asheville & Pisgah National Forest, NC

Steve returns every year to the Blue Ridge. Whether it's hiking the Art Loeb Trail or just breathing mountain air, western North Carolina feels like home.

Chattanooga, TN

Lookout Mountain, the Tennessee River gorge, and some of the best trail systems in the South. Chattanooga is a regular stop for the whole family.

Southern Pines, NC

Steve spent years living near the Sandhills — longleaf pine country with wide open land and a slower pace. It shaped how he thinks about property and place.

Central Florida

Family time in the Sunshine State. Steve's kids love it, and even Loki has been known to sprint across a few Florida fields.

The Adirondacks, NY

Six million acres of wild land. Steve heads north to chase steelhead, hike with his wife and kids, and let Loki run until he's too tired to run anymore.

Steelhead Fishing

Cold water, early mornings, and the kind of patience that makes you a better businessman. Steve chases steelhead whenever he can — it's where he does his best thinking.

Hiking with Wife & Kids

The best trail is the one your kids are excited about. Steve and his family hit the trails whenever they can — with Loki leading the way and refusing to slow down.

Why This Work Matters to Us

Land isn't just an asset. It's a place.

When someone reaches out to sell their land, there's usually a story behind it. An inherited parcel from a grandparent. A lot that was going to be a cabin someday. Land that's been sitting on a tax bill for years. Steve has heard all of it, and he takes it seriously.

The goal at Loki Land Co has always been simple: be the kind of buyer you'd want to deal with yourself. Honest about what the land is worth, clear about the process, and respectful of the fact that selling land is a real decision — not just a transaction.

Loki

"The name Loki Land Co comes from my dog. He's the reason I'm always looking for the next open field, the next trail, the next piece of land worth exploring. That curiosity is what drives this business."
